This Lots for Tots sale is being held at Francis Coombe Academy on Saturday 2nd March.  This sale opens to the public at 10am and finishes at 11.45am.

An indoor table top sale for people that want to sell their second hand baby, toddler and children’s items, and those that want to buy them.

It is just £1 entry per adult, and you can browse each sellers table and pick out exactly what you need, paying the seller direct.

Photo Walk in Cassiobury Park

 

Photowalk in Cassiobury Park is hosted by Andrew Lalchan Photography and Cassiobury Park.  It is being held on Wednesday 13th March 13 from 11am – 1pm.

Take a guided walk through Cassiobury Park nature reserve led by Vicky D’Souza (Cassiobury Park Hub) & Andrew Lalchan (local photographer), They will be exploring early spring in the Park.

Meeting at the Cassiobury Park Hub which is near the paddling pool, this walk offers opportunities to take nature photos, and Andrew will be on hand to provide help and advise.

As its likely to be muddy in the park, strong footwear is needed.


 

Singing by Heart

 

Singing by Heart, the Salvation Army dementia friendly singing group is on the first Tuesday of the month, the next event is Tuesday 5th March.

This programme is carefully designed for people living with dementia and their carers but anyone is welcome to join in.  The entry fee is £1.50 per person and runs from 1pm – 2pm.


 

Exclusive User Testing – New Features for your online account

 

Watford Community Housing are holding a meeting on Thursday 28th February at their offices Gateway House, 59 Clarendon Road from 10am – 11.30am about some changes to their online account which means that you will soon be able to book your own repairs!

They are currently testing this system and would like to invite you to meet with the staff who are making the changes to the system and give it a test run.

They are interested in talking to people who currently use the online account service, as well as those who do not.

Please let them know if you would like to attend?  Spaces are limited but they can also offer an additional evening date if there is interest?


 

Healthy Lifestyles for Women

 

Healthy Lifestyles for Women is a fun 6 weeks course that starts on Wednesday 27th February until Wednesday 3rd April 10am – 2pm, at the Meriden Community Centre.

This course looks at how to improve lifestyles through exercise, eating habits and general lifestyle changes.

First Free Pensioners’ Forum – Watford

 

The first free Pensioners’ Forum in partnership with Watford Borough Council,will be held on on Tuesday 12 March from 2pm – 4pm in Committee Rooms 2 and 3 at the Town Hall in Watford.

The Pensioners’ Forum is a great way for residents in Watford to meet, hear information and get helpful advice.  It will be chaired by Deputy Mayor Karen Collett.  It is a good opportunity to meet new people and chat over tea and cake.

Healthy Relationships Workshop

 

DeafHope and SignHealth are running a Heathy Relationships Workshop in full British Sign Language (BSL), Tuesday 5th March at Watford Deaf Club, The Harebreaks, WD24 6NJ, Watford 1pm – 3.15pm.

What is a healthy relationship? What is abuse? Happens only in partners or family ? What are the signs?

Delivered by Marie Vickers DeafHope’s Service Manager you can learn more about healthy relationships.

Does not matter if you are male or female, single or in a relationship and or your age: it is never too early or late to learn more.

Watford Afternoon Deaf Club opens at 12midday – Normal £3 entrance fee.

Tea and coffee provided- bring your own lunch/sandwiches. Workshop starts at 1pm finishes at 3.15pm, then tea, coffee and cake

Club closes at 4pm.


 

The Peace Hospice Care charity shop – Re-opens

 

The Peace Hospice Care charity shop in Garston re-opens this Thursday 14th February at 10am after its refurbishment.

They invite you to come along to the re-opening and have a look inside the new shop, and they thank you for your patience during the shop’s closure.


 

Community Coffee – Cafe in the Library

 

Community Coffee – Cafe in the Library is held the first Friday of the month at Watford Central Library from 10am – 11.30am.   Hosted by Link4Growth District – South West Herts, this next event is on Friday 1st March.

Link4Growth’s purpose is to share the great work that is happening in our communities. Whether it is inspiring community work, or brilliant local businesses offering fabulous services.

All those attending are free from any pressure to meet the needs or expectations of others.  In other words, come along and just be yourself.

Link4Coffee events are informal and relaxed drop-in sessions, created to provide a regular chance for people to meet others in their local community. 

These gatherings are open to all, you might meet a new friend, someone with skills you need or even someone you can help.  You might get some amazing advice, guidance or signposting to useful information.


 

Home-Start Watford Charity Shop Grand Reopening!

 

The Home-Start Watford Charity Shop are having a grand reopening on Friday 15th February 1pm – 4pm.

With the support of Intu Watford and T&B Contractors they have transformed their charity shop.

They stock good quality pre-loved clothes, a vintage selection, toys and much more.  Support them to take action against childhood disadvantage.

Shop will be opened at 1.30pm by Watford Elected Mayor Peter Taylor.
