Rotary Club of Watford Quiz Night

 

Rotary Club of Watford are hosting a quiz night on Saturday 2nd March at Parmiter’s School, High Elms Lane, WD25 OUU; with proceeds in aid of Rotary supported charities and the Sand Dam Project.

Arrive from 6.30pm for a 7pm start, and tickets are  £15 which includes a hot meal.

Random Cafe Presents Afternoon Tea at Watford Museum

 

The Random Cafe are hosting afternoon tea at the Watford Museum on Saturday 30th March from  2pm – 4pm.

Join them on Mother’s Day weekend for afternoon tea in the beautiful surroundings of Watford Museum. Book your table for sandwiches, cakes and scones with all the trimmings.

Heritage Talk at the Hub: Cassiobury Swiss Cottage

 

Cassiobury Park are hosting a Heritage Talk at the Hub about the Cassiobury Swiss Cottage, on Saturday 23rd March 23 from 2pm – 3pm.

At this 45 minute talk you can hear about why, when and where the Swiss Cottage was built; why it disappeared; who lived there; what was found when the site was excavated by local volunteers in 2016.

There will be light refreshments afterwards and display of archaeological finds.

Watford Footbal Club – Match Day Parking

 

Watford Football Club have a home match on Sunday 3rd March (Kick off 12pm).   Parking restrictions will be enforced and traffic delays can be expected before and after the match.

The police will close of the section of Vicarage Road, between the junction with Fearnley Street and the junction with Harwoods Road.  This will be for a short period before and after the match.

Inclusive Dance hosted by Para Dance UK is a FREE dance class on Monday 25th February, from 2.30pm – 3.30pm at Woodside Leisure Centre.

The Great British Dog Walk 2019

 

The Great British Dog Walk 2019 is on the Munden Estate, Watford.  Hosted by Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and Hearing Dogs for Deaf People East Anglia.  Sunday 17th March from 10am – 3pm (Registration: 10am – walk start time: 11am) Distance: 3km (Family Route) or 6km (Scenic Route)

Take part in The Great British Dog Walk, it’s a fun-filled sponsored walk, which raises money for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.  It’s about meeting people who also love dogs, and raising funds to help deaf people leave loneliness behind.

What to expect:

  • Free bandanna – You’ll receive a free bandanna for your four-legged friend with every adult ticket purchased.
  • Meet a hearing dog – Find out how deaf people have reconnected with life.
  • Tea and cake – Before or after the walk

 

Terrain:

The walk is within a beautiful country estate through park lands, woods and across farmland. Both walks are challenging as they take in grass or dirt tracks and parts are across ploughed fields. Neither of the routes are suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs.

The Green Minds Horticultural Centre (formerly called Green Canteen) purpose is to promote positive mental, emotional and physical health for everyone involved.

All they grow and make they sell onto the community with all proceeds reinvested back into the project.

Bumps and Babies hosted by NCT Watford (National Childbirth Trust) is a monthly group meeting, the next is on Monday 11th March, 1pm – 3pm at Centrepoint Community Centre, Raphael Drive, Watford WD24 4GY.

Suitable for parents to be and those with babies up to 18 months.  Come for a chat, hot drinks and more….
