CAP Money Course

 

In conjunction with Christians Against Poverty, Bushey Baptist Church is running a CAP Money Course.

This FREE 3 part course will be held at Bushey Baptist Church,Chalk Hill, WD19 4BX Watford,at 3pm till around 5pm to 5:30pm on three Saturday’s in February.

The CAP Money Course is a course that will teach you budgeting skills and a simple, cash-based system that works. In just a few weeks, you will get to grips with your finances so you can budget, save and prevent debt.

Whether you feel pretty organised or whether it’s like a lucky dip every time you try to withdraw cash from your account, the CAP Money Course will help you take complete control of your finances.

Living Well with Dementia Seminar

 

Living Well with Dementia Seminar at Montrose Care Home is on Friday 22nd 11am – 1pm at 95 Langley Road, Watford, Hertfordshire, WD17 4PE.

Do you know someone living with dementia?  This FREE-OF-CHARGE seminar is aimed at carers and families caring for a loved one with dementia.

Hosted by B&M Care’s Dementia Specialist Caroline Inch (BSc (Hons) Dementia Studies), this 2-hour session will allow you to network with other families, share your experiences and find out about the small things you can do to help a person living with dementia.

Cancer talk

 

Cancer talk will be delivered by Macmillan Watford and will be educational and informative, focusing on cancer and support services available in Watford.

The session will be on Wednesday 13th February 6pm at Gateway House 59 Clarendon Road.


 

Free Nordic Walking Taster Session

 

This free Nordic Walking Taster Session is hosted by Nordic Walking Watford, and is on Saturday 9th February from 2pm – 2:45pm at Leavesden Country Park.

A 45 minute session that will help you understand just how beneficial Nordic walking can be and how it is far more than just walking with poles!!

Get a taste of how light you will feel on your feet, how the whole body is mobilised and why you need to take the time to learn the technique.

Random Cafe

 

The Random Cafe is a pop up cafe and part of The Real Junk Food Project. Diverting food destined to be thrown away.  They hold regular cafes around Watford, using food donated by food establishments that would otherwise go to landfill.

The Random Cafe is being held at the Meriden Community Centre on Saturday 23rd February from 1pm-3pm 

You can enjoy a coffee or tea, cake and other snacks whilst having a chat, and then do some shopping at their food boutique table.  All of their food is available on a pay-as-you-feel basis.


 

Farmyard Funworld

 

Farmyard Funworld is a small family visitor attraction at The Lincolnsfields Children’s Centre, Bushey Hall Drive, Bushey, WD23 2ES.  It will be open everyday from 10am until 4pm during Half Term.

If the weather is dry and bright then you can visit their Farmyard where they have a small farm where your children can get up close with their farm animals chickens, rabbits, peacocks and much more.  They have a regular twice-a-day programme of petting and feeding and, of course, their famous “CLOSE ENCOUNTERS” presentation where you can meet some of their more exotic creatures.

If it’s raining then your kids can spend hours letting off steam and getting great exercise in Funworld – Their indoor 3-storey soft play frame, while you enjoy a coffee in their cafeteria.

Watford Rocks Half Term Workshop

 

Watford Rocks Half Term Workshop is being hosted by Watford Museum on Thursday 21st February at Watford Museum, 194 Lower High Street, WD17 2DT, from 11am – 12.30pm.

Spread happiness around Watford! Use your creativity to decorate a rock that can be hidden around town and bring a smile to the person who finds it! Photograph and share any rocks you find in Watford, then re-hide it!

They have been inspired by the lovely community at the Watford Rocks Facebook page! Share photos of the rocks you find around Watford on their Facebook page to join in the conversation and possibly let someone know how much their rock made your day.
