Creative and Sewing Clubs – Watford CreatorSpace

 

Creative and Sewing Clubs take place on alternate Tuesdays at Watford Central Library from 8th January 11.am – 1pm.

CreatorSpace is all about encouraging creativity in all its forms.  If you enjoy crafts, here is your chance to come and use the facilities at the library such as their digital cutter, perfect for creating consistent or intricate patterns.

The Creative Clubs are open to all so join in and share your creations, tips and tricks.  All welcome – only £2.50 a session.


 

Toddler Tales

 

Toddler Tales is the perfect step on from Baby Rhyme Time (held on Friday afternoons), with a mix of lively stories and rhymes for you and your child to join in with.  Held at North Watford Library every Tuesday from 11am – 11.30am.

Sharing stories and rhymes with your child helps to develop their listening skills, language and imagination.  Enjoy the stories together by sitting with your child during the session and then spend time browsing and borrowing from their extensive range of picture books.

The stories chosen are aimed at toddlers and pre-school children but babies are welcome too.

This activity is free; however they do welcome a voluntary contribution of £1 per family.


 

Sing your heart out

 

Come and sing your heart out for the last tie this month at Horwood Court, Hillrise Avenue on Friday 25th October from 1.45pm – 2.45pm.

Loving a good singsong is something that brings us all together.  That’s why the children of Knutsford Primary Academy will be joining the residents of Horwood Court for inter-generational music lessons.

They will be learning, teaching and singing along with the residents and other attendees.

Meriden Community Choir

 

Meriden Community Choir is on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month.  The next evening is September 26th at the Meriden Community Centre from 8pm – 9pm.

Come along and sing! No previous experience required. Just a love of singing!

Macmillan Coffee Morning at The Badger

 

Macmillan Coffee Morning, hosted by The Badger & Meriden Residents Association on Friday 27th September 9am – 12 noon.

Come along and help raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Knife Amnesty

 

Hertfordshire is joining forces across the country in taking part in the national knife amnesty, Operation Sceptre.  Between 16th-22nd September.   knives can be surrendered anonymously at various locations around the county.

There will be bins located at Watford, Hatfield, and Stevenage police stations throughout the amnesty.


 

Heritage Walk

 

Join this Heritage guided walk on Sunday 15th September from 11am – 1pm, with a member of the SW Herts Archaeological & Historical Society, from the Cassiobury Park Hub up into Whippendell Woods.

This walk is FREE; email cassiobury@watford.gov.uk to book your places.

Meet outside the Hub on the upper paved patio for 11 am.  Walk suitable for adults and families with older children.


 

Watford Football Club – Match Day Parking

 

Watford Football Club have a home match on Sunday 15th September against Arsenal (Kick off 4.30pm). Parking restrictions will be enforced and traffic delays can be expected before and after the match.

The police will close of the section of Vicarage Road, between the junction with Fearnley Street and the junction with Harwoods Road.  This will be for a short period before and after the match.

Free Taster – Nordic Walking

 

A 45-minute free taster Nordic walking session on Thursday 19th September at Cassiobury Park – Main car park from 11am – 11.45am.

It will help you understand just how beneficial Nordic walking can be and how it is far more than just walking with poles!!

Get a taste of how light you will feel on your feet, how the whole body is mobilised and why you need to take the time to learn the technique.
