Waterdale ReUse Centre – Official Opening

 

Pick up a truly green bargain at the official opening of the Waterdale ReUse Centre, on Wednesday 21st November grand opening at 11am.

Their new building is located at the Waterdale Household Waste Recycling Centre, St Albans Road, North Garston, WD25 0PR.

The Random Café will be serving delicious nibbles and drinks while you browse.

You can also be in with a chance to win a competition!

Development Consultation Drop In Session

 

Watford Community Housing are holding a drop in session on Tuesday 20th November regarding the proposals to develop on Bowmans Green and  Woodmere Avenue.  

The consultation session is being held at the Meriden Community Centre, and you can drop in anytime between 5.30pm – 7.30pm  

  • The proposal for Bowmans Green is to develop the garage sites and to deliver three bungalows for social rent.
  • The proposal for Woodmere Avenue is to build  5 new homes for social rent in a small block.

 

This is an opportunity for you to see the plans, to find out more about the proposals and to share your thoughts.

Christmas Gifts, Books and Craft Fair

 

Stanborough Park Church are hosting a Christmas gifts, books and craft fair on Sunday 18th November from 11am – 3pm in the Stanborough Centre, with proceeds going to the Peace Hospice.

There will be a wide selection of books, many hand crafted items perfect as gifts or why not just treat yourself!


 

Cassiobury Junior School Christmas Market

 

Cassiobury Junior School are holding a Christmas Market on Sunday 25th November 11am – 4pm, Bellmount Wood Avenue.   Price: Adults £2, Children: Free

A fantastic day out for the family that you can visit for a truly magical Christmas experience.   They have several activities on which will keep every member of the family entertained including:

  •  Santa’s Grottos: meet Santa and get a gift
  •  A real Santa’s sleigh pulled by horse which you can ride on
  •  Funfair with rides and bungee trampolines

Countdown to Christmas – Family Fun Day

 

The countdown to Christmas family fun day is a fundraising event for Watford Mencap and Herts Inclusive Theatre, and is being held on Saturday 24th November from 11am – 3pm, at the Holywell Community Centre, Chaffinch Lane (off Tolpits Lane)

Free entry for children, £3 entry for adults. Charges apply for some activities.

Join Herts Inclusive Theatre and Watford Mencap for fun festivities to start the countdown to Christmas!   There will be games, a Santa’s Grotto, story telling, face painting, arts and craft, drumming and dance workshops and more!

All monies raised from the day will go towards Herts Inclusive Theatre and Watford Mencap charities.


 

Handmade Craft Sale & Vintage Tearoom

 

The handmade in West Watford Craft Sale & Vintage Tearoom is a popular pre-Christmas event,  that this year it is being held on Saturday 17th November from 10.30am – 2.30pm at West Watford Community Centre, 15 Harwoods Road.

Stock up on various handmade goodies, presents, cards and lots more all lovingly made.  Then chill out in their Vintage Tearoom serving delicious home-made cakes.


 

Watford Football Club – Match Day Parking

 

Watford Football Club next home match is Saturday 24th November (Kick off 3pm).   Parking restrictions will be enforced and traffic delays can be expected before and after the match.

The police will close of the section of Vicarage Road, between the junction with Fearnley Street and the junction with Harwoods Road.  This will be for a short period before and after the match.

Random Cafe

 

The Random Cafe is part of the Real Junk Food Project and their aims are for a fair, sustainable food system and an end to the industrial waste of perfectly edible food.

Tea, coffee, cake or perhaps a hot slice of toast?  There is something for everyone at the Random Cafe.

On Saturday 24th November, the Random Cafe is being held at the Meriden Community Centre, 1pm – 3pm 

There is no prices, Donate what you can or offer your time and skills.


 

Big Skate

 

The Big Skate outdoor rink, made with real ice, has returned to The Parade for the festive season and will run until Sunday 13th January, offering fun for all the family.

The Big Skate is open seven days a week.  You can start the day with a serene morning skate or enjoy a post-work spin.  ​For those who prefer to keep their feet firmly on the ground, the perfect spectating spot can be found in the rink-side bar.

Sessions start on the hour and last 45 minutes.  Ticket price includes skate hire.

Meet the Manager

 

Unfortunately Meet the manager originally scheduled for Wednesday 21st November has had to be moved back a week.  

Watford Leisure Centre Central invite you to meet the Manager over refreshments now on Wednesday 28th November from 7pm-8pm.  This is your chance for regular users or stakeholders to come along to share their views.

The management team will present an overview of previous minutes along with development plans, and will discuss any  ideas or areas for improvement you may have.
