Autism Talk

 

Watford Community Housing are holding a talk on Autism on Tuesday 16th April from 1pm – 2pm at Holywell Community Centre.

You will be able to hear from a speaker from the National Autistic Society, as she tells her story about living with the condition.

Storytime Adventure

 

Storytime Adventure is an activity for children at Cassiobury Park, on Thursday 11th April from 10.30am – 11.30am.

Come and listen to a story, then take part in fun games and activities in the park.  Children must be accompanied by an adult and suitable for 2-5 years.  Cost: £2 per child.

Meet at the Hub’s education space and this is a first come, first served basis.

Please note there is parking restrictions at Gade Avenue car park due to improvement works.


 

Crafty History

 

Crafty History is hosted by Cassiobury Park on Tuesday 16th April at Cassiobury Park from 10:30am – 11.30am.

Join their fun craft activity based upon the history of Cassiobury Park. Children must be accompanied by an adult and this activity is suitable for ages 5-12 years.

Meet inside Hub’s education room, no booking required and the cost £2 per child.

Wild Walk – Frogs

 

Wild walk frogs is hosted by Cassiobury Park on Thursday 11th April at Cassiobury Park from 1pm – 2.30pm.

Join their wild walk which is for families and suitable for children 5 – 12 years to spot frogs at the park and learn more about these amazing creatures.

Meet at the Hub on the patio at 1pm. No booking required and the cost is £2 per child.

Wear shoes suitable for muddy condition and outdoor clothing.

Art in the Park

 

Join art students from University of Hertfordshire to create some nature themed art to display at the Cassiobury Hub, Tuesday 9th April.  Meet at the Hub’s education space at 10.30am

Suitable for ages 5-12 years, cost £2 per child. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Favourite Toys

 

Favourite Toys is a family event children and their parents or grandparents. Held on Wednesday 10th April at Watford Central Library, from 10am – 11.30am.

Explore old toys in their Reminiscence Boxes and create a Comic Strip together.

For ages 5-11 and children must be accompanied by and adult.

Thomas Play Experience

 

Thomas play experience is a fun indoor giant play date for children to enjoy.  This play event takes place on Monday 15th April at Leaveseden Community Hub.

These play events provide plenty of space for your children to play and explore.  Parents can simply sit back and watch their children play.

Age: 2.5 – 6 Years old; £6.50 per child. Adults FREE.

Meriden Residents Association Easter Community Event

 

As part of the Great British Spring Clean the Meriden Residents Association are holding an Easter Community Event. It will be a day of fun and prizes on Saturday 13th April.

Timetable is as follows;

  • Great British Spring Clean – Litter picking in the park (10.30am)
  • Community lunch with The Random Cafe (1pm)
  • Easter Bonnet competition for children (2pm)

We would like our park to be a wonderful area for residents to relax in and enjoy the upcoming warm weather! In preparation for this, we will be litter-picking for the community.

Please come and  join us as we gather at the park near Munden View, from 10.30am for an 11am start.

All equipment will be provided to help with the clean-up process.

Afterwards as an Easter celebration, we will team up with the Random Cafe for lunch at the Meriden Community Centre at 1pm – furthering their great cause to help eliminate food waste.  Please bring a small donation.

We will be holding an Easter bonnet competition for the children in the Community Centre at 2pm.  Prizes will be given on behalf of the Residents Association for the best bonnets on the day.

Watford Football Club Evening Home Match – Match Day Parking

 

Watford Football Club have an evening home match on Tuesday 2nd April (Kick off 7. 45pm).  Parking restrictions will be enforced and traffic delays can be expected before and after the match.

The police will close of the section of Vicarage Road, between the junction with Fearnley Street and the junction with Harwoods Road.  This will be for a short period before and after the match.

Community Coffee – Cafe in the Library

 

Community Coffee – Cafe in the Library is being held on the Friday 5th April at Watford Central Library from 10am – 11.30am.   Hosted by Link4Growth District – South West Herts this coffee group meet the first Friday of the month.

Link4Growth’s purpose is to share the great work that is happening in our communities. Whether it is inspiring community work, or brilliant local businesses offering fabulous services.

All those attending are free from any pressure to meet the needs or expectations of others.  In other words, come along and just be yourself.

Link4Coffee events are informal and relaxed drop-in sessions, created to provide a regular chance for people to meet others in their local community. 

These gatherings are open to all, you might meet a new friend, someone with skills you need or even someone you can help.  You might get some amazing advice, guidance or signposting to useful information.
