Watford Central Library invite you to bring your little one and their teddy to the library for a special story time on Thursday 6th June from 2.15pm – 2.45pm.

Watford Central Library invite you to bring your little one and their teddy to the library for a special story time on Tuesday 4th June from 2:15pm – 2.45pm and Saturday 8th June from 2pm – 2.30pm 


 

Alarm Training Drop In

 

Watford Community Housing will be down at the Meriden with AICO, who have installed the new, high-tech smoke alarms in the two high rise blocks, Munden View and Abbey View on Friday 31st May.

They will be training residents at a ‘Drop In’ between 12:30pm – 3:30pm for advice on how to test the alarms.

There will be a van parked to the rear of Munden View, with the display centre pictured above.

Face2Face are a group of Christian professional musicians who refresh audiences everywhere with a unique mixture of music, ranging from classical, rock, jazz, pop, ballads, opera and Christian songs.

They have a forthcoming concert on Saturday 1st June at St Mary’s Church.

A musical evening combining song and music starting at 7.30 pm, with light refreshments served.

Reminiscence and activity sessions

 

Reminiscence and activity sessions for people living with dementia and their carers are hosted by Herts Disability Sports Foundation, every Friday from 1pm – 2.45pm at Holywell Community Centre.

Spend time drinking tea and eating biscuits while you chat, and in between try out some low level physical activity.

All activities will be guided by the people in the group, so for example if there is an interest in cricket, tennis, cooking or cycling, they will make the sessions as relevant as possible.

Your first session is free, then a £5 contribution per family which will be used to sustain the sessions longer term.

Crafty History: Victorian Toy (spinning disc)

 

Cassiobury Park are hosting a Crafty History: Victorian Toy (spinning disc) event on Tuesday 28th May from 10.30am – 11.30am.  You will be able to create a Victorian toy Thaumatrope (spinning disc) that would have been played by children at Cassiobury House.

This toy displays an optical illusion when rapidly rotated. Children must be accompanied by an adult, suitable for 5-12 years.

Meet at the Hub’s education space at 10:30am.  Cost: £2 cash per child.  Booking: No booking required, just turn up.


 

Bumps and Babies

 

Bumps and Babies is hosted by the National Childbirth Trust, (NCT) their next event is on Monday 10th June from 1pm – 3pm at Watford Rugby Club, Radlett Road, WD24 4LL

Come for a chat with other parents, a drink and home made cake.  Parents-to-be and those with babies up to 18 months are welcome.

This month they will be joined by Gemma from SlingSwing who runs dance classes for mums with babies enjoying the movement in slings.


 

W3RT: Getting Together – The Brow

 

Getting Together has a new club opening on Friday the 7th of June at The Woodside Community centre from 11am – 3pm.

There will be varied exercise, Arts and Crafts, sharing life experiences, memories and organised talks.
