The Peace Hospice ‘Music in the Park’ at Cassiobury Bandstand

 

Peace Hospice Care Watford Support Group present ‘Music in the Park’!  Grab your picnic blanket and head down to Cassiobury Park on Sunday 9th June from 12pm -3pm for this free event.

The team will kindly be raising money for the Hospice and the Watford Renal Unit at Watford General Hospital.


 

Wildlife Safari

 

Wildlife Safari is a free event at Rickmansworth Aquadrome and places for this always go fast.  You can go wild on their ‘safari’ through the park and discover lots of wildlife in and around their lakes on, Sunday 21st July from 10am – 12pm

The Park Ranger will share details about reptiles, birds and other wildlife found.

Beechfield School Summer Fayre

 

Beechfield school summer fayre is being held on Saturday 8th June from 11:30am – 3pm at Beechfield School, Gammons Lane.

All are welcome to come along to this free entry Spring Fayre, but donations would be appreciated.


 

Tenant Question Time: Where does the money go?

 

The next Tenant Question Time, organised by the Gateway Membership Team (GMT) is on Wednesday 5th June from 6.45pm for a 7pm start. It is being held at their offices, Gateway House, 59 Clarendon Road.

Their panel will be on hand to answer your questions about things that matter to you!

Leavesden Hospitals – A Brief Walk Through Time

 

The 2019 Leavesden Hospital guided tour walks are on the first Sunday of the month 7th July, 4th August and 1st September.

A guided walk through the grounds of Leavesden Country Park. Learn about the fascinating history of the hospitals that once filled the grounds of the park and played such an important role in the treatment of mental health and in the Leavesden community.

Registration from 11.30am for 12 noon depart.

Meet at Leavesden HIVE, next to the Woodlands Café, Leavesden Country Park, (off College Road) Abbots Langley WD5 0NX.

Cost: £3 per person; open to all ages and abilities. The walk will take approximately 3 hours along accessible paths.

First Aid – For Parents and Carers

 

First Aid – for parents and carers is a two hour introduction to First Aid on Saturday 8th June from 1pm – 3pm at Berrygrove Family Centre, Cow Lane.  This session will focus on baby and child resuscitation, treating head injuries, choking and burns.  Parents to be are welcome.  Led by an experienced First Aid Trainer at a cost of £20

Please note that this course is not suitable for babies or children to attend.

You will need to register with the Family Centre Service before attending the course. You can do this through the new Family Centre Service website which is www.hertsfamilycentres.org If you are not registered this could affect your booking.

Bee Talk

 

Bee Talk is hosted by Little Cassiobury CIC (Community Interest Company) on Saturday 1st June from 10am – 12pm at Cheslyn Gardens.  The interesting topic this year as spring has burst forth will be ‘a year in the life of a bee keeper.’

The Bee Talk/Coffee Morning will be at the peaceful Cheslyn Gardens in Nascot Road, where there will be a delicious spread of homemade cake, tea and coffee and a complimentary fun draw ticket for a bag of bee related goodies.

Watford Gymnastics Club – May Holiday Camp

 

Watford Gymnastics Club are now taking bookings for their May Holiday Camp;  May Half term Tuesday 28th May – Friday 31st May from 10am – 2pm. 

These sessions are for members and non-members alike.  The session is for children in reception and above.  Holiday sessions are a great time to learn new skills and have more time on each apparatus.  Additionally to this the children will play games and have time for free play.

Please make sure your child brings a light lunch and is wearing comfortable sports clothing.

The gymnastics takes place in the sports hall on the first floor of the YMCA building.  The best place to park is in Sutton Car Park and walk over.

You will also get a discount on parking for this car park by getting your ticket validated in the reception.  If you have a buggy or wheelchair please use the lifts outside Debenhams and use the entrance to the YMCA on the upper mall.

Sunday Walk & Talk

 

Sunday Walk & Talk is hosted by Link4Growth District & South West Herts.  Meet them at the Cha Cafe on Sunday 26th May at 1pm – 3pm, and you enjoy the adventure from there. You can pace yourself, stick around for half an hour or finish the walk.

These events are informal and relaxed, inclusive and open to all, created to provide a regular chance for people to meet others in the community in a different way; on a walk in nature.

Exploring Cassiobury Park, local water canals, River Gade, Whippendell Forest, Nature Reserve or Grove Park Hotel grounds, whatever they have the time for.

No agenda other than to enjoy conversations and other people’s company and get to know each other. At these community events, you’ll find yourself in a friendly atmosphere with other local people.

There are no attendance fees or barriers, please just book in to attend, come along and join them. Why not bring a friend too?
