The Great Get Together at Cassiobury Park Bandstand

 

There will be live music at the bandstand in Cassiobury Park on Saturday 22nd June from 2pm – 5pm at the Great Get Together.

Bring your own picnic to this free event where there will be games for kids to enjoy.


 

Church Fete – St Lawrence Abbots Langley

 

St Lawrence Church are holding a Church Fete on Saturday 22nd June from 2pm – 5pm.

Activities include; Lucky dip, Tombola and bouncy castle.  There will also be plants, tea and cake for sale.

All proceeds go to New Hope and Watford Town Centre Chaplaincy.


 

Family Fun Day

 

Watford Muslim Youth Centre welcomes you to come for a day of family fun on Saturday 22nd June from 12.30pm – 4.30pm at Holywell Community Centre.

There will be lots of stalls with cakes, clothes, hijabs, abayas, toys, perfumes and food, along with other fun activities that include; Bouncy castle, Penalty shoot outs, Cricket, face and t-shirt painting, badge and key-ring making.

Older Persons Activity Learning & Safety (OPALS)

 

This free safety informative, help and advice event for the older person is on Wednesday 19th June at Wellspring Church Centre from 10am – 12pm. (behind Watford Museum)

The OPALS events are designed to help reduce the vulnerability of residents to scams, burglaries, fires etc, by providing a sample of support, advice and help within the local community.

Big Bandstand season is back!  There are plenty of performances over the summer months to keep you entertained with something for everyone.

Bring your picnics and blankets and join the Bushey and District Jazz Band on Sunday 16th June from 2pm – 4pm.


 

Abbots Langley Spring Community Market

 

Abbots Langley Spring Community Market is being held on Saturday 15th June from 10am – 1pm at Henderson Hub, Abbots Langley.

Abbots in Transition presents produce from local growers and producers.  There will be cakes and bakes, jams and preserves, coffee and chocolate, seedlings, unique gifts, fruit and vegetables.


 

Summer Picnic: National Animal Welfare Trust

 

Join the National Animal Welfare Trust for a relaxing summer picnic in the sun and be entertained by musical performances from Carrie Dunn and Julian Evans on Saturday 15th June from 12pm – 3pm. 

This is an event for all the family to enjoy and dogs are more than welcome, but if you don’t have an animal of your own come and have a look at all their animals waiting to find their forever home!

Bring along your own picnic to enjoy, or grab some sandwiches, cakes and sweet treats from their onsite café Cotton Tail’s. Take a look around their onsite charity shop, pet accessories, games and stalls, you’re guaranteed to find a bargain.

Please park at the Mercure Hotel where parking is free but please ensure you register your car in the Mercure Reception when you arrive, in order to avoid a parking fine.

Helping Hands Home Care (Watford), invite you to join them in their branch on Thursday 13th June between 2pm – 5pm for their cupcake day to help raise awareness and funds for our local Alzheimer’s society.

Photowalk in Cassiobury Park nature reserve

 

Take a guided Photo walk in Cassiobury Park nature reserve led by Vicky D’Souza (Cassiobury Park Hub) & Andrew Lalchan (local photographer), they will be exploring summer in the woods, Wednesday 12th June from 11am – 1.30pm.

This walk offers opportunities to take photos of nature and Andrew will be on hand to provide the best advise on taking photographs with your camera. There should be quite a few dragonflies and damselfly insects (similar to dragonflies) to photograph.

They will meet at the Cassiobury Park Hub which is near the paddling pool. Please note – reduced parking spaces at Gade Avenue car park due to drainage works.
