Baby Rhyme Time

 

Baby Rhyme Times is a fun half hour session of songs and rhymes suitable for babies and toddlers of all ages.  This event is held at North Watford Library every Friday 2.15pm – 2.45pm.

All parents, carers and their babies are welcome to join in and there is no need to book in advance for this free activity, however a voluntary contribution of £1 per family is appreciated.

For the comfort and safety of you and your child, numbers are limited at popular sessions.

Baby Rhyme Time is also held at Watford Central Library every Thursday at 2.15pm – 2.45pm.


 

Cassiobury Explorers

 

Unfortunately due to poor weather forecast this weeks Cassiobury Explorers on Thursday 31st January (1:00pm-2:30pm) is cancelled.

Cassiobury Explorers is outdoor fun and exploration for children from ages two to five but younger siblings welcome.

These FREE Sessions run every Thursday during term time only from 1pm – 2.30pm.

Meet outside the Cassiobury Hub at 12:50pm and follow staff to event site.

Toddler Tales

 

Toddler Tales is the perfect step on from Baby Rhyme Time (held on Friday afternoons), with a mix of lively stories and rhymes for you and your child to join in with.  Held at North Watford Library every Tuesday from 11am – 11.30am.

Sharing stories and rhymes with your child helps to develop their listening skills, language and imagination.  Enjoy the stories together by sitting with your child during the session and then spend time browsing and borrowing from their extensive range of picture books.

The stories chosen are aimed at toddlers and pre-school children but babies are welcome too.

This activity is free; however they do welcome a voluntary contribution of £1 per family.


 

The Salvation Army – Tuesday Clubs

 

Every Tuesday The Salvation Army Church and Community Centre hold various clubs at their Church 376a St Albans Road, Watford.

C.A.M.E.O. Club, which starts at 11am is full of crafts, jigsaws, gardening and much more.

 

Lunch Club, starting at 12pm is a chance to meet each other over soup and a sweet.

 

Over 60’s Club, is full of all sorts of activities for all sorts of people and starts at 1pm.

Protect your money

 

North Watford Library will be hosting a talk from the Safer Neighbourhood Police team to talk about how to protect yourself from cybercrime, online and phone scams.  The event takes place on Monday February 4th from 11am – 1pm.

The talk begins at 11am.  Spaces are limited so please arrive early.  This is a free event but donations are welcome.


 

Bring & Buy Sale

 

The National Animal Welfare Trust are holding a Bring and Buy Sale at their centre on Saturday 9th February, 11am – 3pm.

Come along to NAWT centre at Tylers Way, Watford By Pass, WD25 8WT for a Bring & Buy Sale!

If you have items you no longer want or need, like clothes, books or toys, bring them along and help raise money for their centre!

You’re bound to find a good bargain!

As this event takes place down the yard, near their kennels, unfortunately this is not a dog friendly event.


 

Green Minds Horticultural Centre – Logs and Kindling available

 

Green Minds Horticultural Centre is between 24-26 Garsmouth Way, Meriden.  With cold weather forecast get prepared – logs and kindling are available at the centre for just £7.50 per bag!

Tuesday & Friday 10am – 1pm
Wednesday & Thursday 10am – 3pm

 

The Green Minds Horticultural Centre (formerly called Green Canteen) purpose is to promote positive mental, emotional and physical health for everyone involved.

All they grow and make they sell onto the community with all proceeds reinvested back into the project.


 

Bird Watching Walk

 

Bird Watching Walk is hosted by Cassiobury Park and is being held on Sunday 10th February from 10:30am – 12.30pm.

Meeting at the Hub you can join bird expert Mark Sutton, for a stroll around the nature reserve to see what birds you can find.

The maximum group size is 30 so arrive early to avoid disappointment.  Bring binoculars if you have them, sorry no dogs! 


 

Wellness & Well-being walk

 

A wellness & well-being walk is being held on Wednesday 6th February from 12pm – 1pm and is being hosted by Cassiobury Park.

Join a guided walk around the park and finish indoors for a discussion with wellness & well-being enthusiast Theresa.

Cost is free; meet outside the Hub on the patio.

Singing by Heart

 

Singing by Heart, the Salvation Army dementia friendly singing group is back for the first time this year on Tuesday 5th February.

The sessions will be held on the first Tuesday of each month at their hall at 376a St Albans Road from 1pm – 2pm and the cost is £1.50 per person.

This programme is carefully designed for people living with dementia and their carers but anyone is welcome to join in.
