Strictly Come Hospice 2019 Grand Finale

 

The Strictly Come Hospice participants are in the process of learning the Salsa or the Rumba and perfecting their performance so they can dazzle an audience of 500 at the Strictly Come Hospice 2019 Grand Finale! This great show is on Friday 29th March 7.30pm at Watersmeet Theatre, Rickmansworth.

You’ll get to see who’s crowned our Strictly Come Hospice Champions and can cheer on all the participants who are working extremely hard to raise thousands for Peace Hospice Care.

SOS!SEN‎ Hertfordshire SEN & disability NEW advice centre

 

SOS!SEN is a national charity aiming to empower parents & carers of children /young people with SEN (Special Educational Needs) & disability to tackle successfully themselves the difficulties they face in ensuring special education needs, support and their children’s educational rights are met.

The Lemarie Centre, 524 St Albans Road, Watford WD24 7RX, are holding a series of walk in advice sessions beginning on Tuesday March 19th from 10.30am – 12.30pm.

No fee although a donation is appreciated.  No appointments necessary.  Please arrive by 11.30am so that you will be seen before the advice centre finishes.

They will ask you to sign in and fill out a short case note form so that they can see what advice you need.  This allows them to direct you to the next free & most appropriate adviser.

Allocated time 30 minutes each, if advice centre is busy.  Bring along any relevant papers including reports.

Junior Challenge 2019

 

The Junior Challenge is a road race (fun run) held annually by Watford Harriers at Cassiobury Park.  This year it is being held on Saturday 30th March at Cassiobury Park from 9:30am – 12.30pm.

This is open to all children across primary school and secondary school up to year 9, this is also regardless of ability and a great opportunity for athletes to represent their schools in a competitive event.  They have two races in the following age categories: Under 8s & under 14s.

Race 1 for U8s starts at 11.15am
Race 2 for U14s starts at 11.30am

Race numbers will be collected at the the event venue on the morning of the race. Registration will open at 09:30am and will close at 11:00am.

Please arrive in sufficient time to collect your race number.

All finishers receive a medal, 1st, 2nd & 3rd place prizes, school team awards, chip timing and only £5 entry.

The race starts and finishes in the same location by the bandstand in Cassiobury Park (Near The Cha Cha Café)

The race is 1 Lap for under 8s and 2 laps for under 14s.

Watford Footbal Club – Match Day Parking

 

Watford Football Club have a home match on Saturday 16th March (Kick off 12.15pm).   Parking restrictions will be enforced and traffic delays can be expected before and after the match.

The police will close of the section of Vicarage Road, between the junction with Fearnley Street and the junction with Harwoods Road.  This will be for a short period before and after the match.

Spring Card Making

 

Spring Card Making is hosted by Hertfordshire Libraries and Watford Central Library.  Saturday 30th March at Watford Central Library, Hempstead Road, 11:30am – 12.30pm.

Join them in the CreatorSpace to make your own ladybird card.  Tickets are £2.00 available from the Library.

Suitable for children 5-12.  Children under 8 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times.


 

Noise Makers

 

Noise Makers is 40 minutes of action songs, exploring instruments, scarves, bubbles, puppets and fun!  Suitable for 0-3 year olds this event is on Tuesday 5th March at Cassiobury Hub from 10.30am – 11.15am.

Join them for Noise Makers music class for babies and toddlers at The Hub (next door to Daisys in the Park) in Cassiobury Park Watford!

Wellness & Well-being walk

 

wellness & well-being walk is being held on Wednesday 6th March from 12pm – 1pm and is being hosted by Cassiobury Park.

Join a guided walk around the park and finish indoors for a discussion with wellness & well-being enthusiast Theresa.

Cost is free; meet outside the Hub on the patio.

Utility Diversion Works

Major drainage works have commenced at the junction of Meriden Way and York Way.
These works will take approximately 10-15 weeks.
During these works temporary traffic lights will be installed for the safety of both the public and contractors.
During the works the existing Coldharbour House car park will be closed to public use.

Bird Watching Walk at Cassiobury Park

 

There is another Bird Watching Walk at Cassiobury Park on Sunday 24th March from 10am – 12pm.

Join their bird expert, Mark Sutton, for a stroll around the nature reserve to see what birds you can find.

Bring binoculars if you have them, meet at the Hub on the patio, close to Daisy’s Cafe at 10am.  Sorry no dogs!
