Meriden Community Cafe

 

Join us at our new community cafe on Wednesday 17th July from 9.30am at the Meriden Community Centre.

Hosted by the Meriden Community Centre and the Meriden Residents Association, this new community cafe will be held every Wednesday.

There will be refreshments and free internet access.

Pensioners’ Forum

 

The free Pensioners’ Forum will be held on on Tuesday 9th July, from 2pm – 4pm in Committee Rooms 2 and 3 at the Town Hall in Watford.  In partnership with Watford Borough Council.

The Pensioners’ Forum is a great way for residents in Watford to meet, hear information and helpful advice from guest speakers and have their say on a range of issues.

It’s also a good opportunity to meet new people and chat over tea and cake.

Central Primary School and Nursery Summer Fair

 

Central Primary School and Nursery are holding their annual summer fair on Saturday 6th July from 12.30pm – 2pm.

Hosted by Friends of Central Primary – PTA, they would love you to come and support the school to help to raise additional funds.

There will be a raffle with some brilliant prizes that have been donated by local businesses, face painting, games, food and plenty of fun.


 

Bell Ringing@St Mary’s Watford

 

St Mary’s is always on the lookout for suitable candidates to learn this fascinating art and join the band.  Practices are held on Tuesdays at 7.30pm.

All you need is a sense of rhythm and tone, and an ability to grasp the fundamentals of mathematical permutations.

You will be a member of a really friendly group of people and be part of an essentially English tradition which is well known and practised all over the world.  With opportunities to travel to other churches and ring their bells.

St Mary’s has a ring of ten bells, If you would like to know more about bell ringing, please get in touch and they will be pleased to show you round and answer any questions you have.

Bumps and Babies group

 

Bumps and Babies group is hosted by NCT Watford, this group is on Monday 8th July from 1pm – 3pm at WRFC Bar & Coffee House. Watford Rugby Club.

Pop along for a chat with other parents, for a cup of tea and home made cake.  Parents-to-be and those with babies up to 18 months welcome.

In July they will be joined by Shell from Sing and Sign for a fun session of music and signing.

Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor will be hosting a Facebook Live Q and A session about our town centre with General Manager of intu Watford Vicki Costello on Wednesday 10th July at 4pm.


 

Garston Community Chuch – Afternoon club

 

Garston Community Chuch run an afternoon club every Thursday from 1.30pm – 4pm at Garston Community Church. 

All welcome to come along and enjoy a cup of tea and cake with activities that include;

  • Bingo
  • Speakers
  • Trips out
  • Arts & Craft

£2.50 per week which includes the refreshments.  Parking is available at the back of the building.

Please note this club takes a summer break during August.


 

Step Up for Shape Up

 

Step Up for Shape Up is a stair climbing challenge event taking place at Vicarage Road Stadium in Watford on Sunday 7th July.

Participants take up the challenge to climb up and down the stands within the stadium whilst raising money for Watford FC’s Community Sports & Education Trust’s Shape Up programme.

£12 (Shape Up members) + £40 Sponsorship
£15 (non Shape Up members) + £40 Sponsorship
£5 (Aged 6 – 17) No Sponsorship

Butterfly walk for summer butterflies

 

Join experts for a led walk to spot summer butterflies at Cassiobury Park on Saturday 7th July from 2pm – 4pm.

Weather permitting the walk will be extended to 6pm for those wishing to see late afternoon butterflies.

Meet at the entrance opposite Langley Way WD17.


 

Cheslyn Gardens Annual Garden Party

 

Cheslyn Gardens Annual Garden Party, hosted by Little Cassiobury Community Interest Company (CIC) on Sunday 7th July from 2pm – 4.30pm at Cheslyn Gardens.

There will be a finger buffet including home made cakes, strawberries and cream, non-alcoholic punch and tea/coffee.

Entertainment provided by the Rickmansworth Players Choir.
