Sunday 4th August Films:

Zootropolis (PG) 12pm – 2pm

  • From the largest elephant to the smallest shrew, the city of Zootopia is a mammal metropolis where various animals live and thrive.  When Judy Hopps becomes the first rabbit to join the police force, she quickly learns how tough it is to enforce the law.  Determined to prove herself, Judy jumps at the opportunity to solve a mysterious case.  Unfortunately, that means working with Nick Wilde, a wily fox who makes her job even harder. Dumbo (U) 3.30pm – 5.30pm

  • Holt was once a circus star, but he went off to war and when he returned it had terribly altered him.  Circus owner Max Medici hires him to take care of Dumbo, a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make him the laughing stock of the struggling circus troupe.  But when Holt’s children discover that Dumbo can fly, silver-tongued entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere, and aerial artist Colette Marchant swoop in to make the little elephant a star. (1h 52m)

Dementia Cafes

 

Hertswise is a service for people living with dementia (with or without a diagnosis), low level memory loss or mild cognitive impairment and their family, friends and carers.

They offer weekly run groups for two hours, and their are two run in the local area:

  • Held every Tuesday from 1pm – 3pm at the Meriden Community Centre.
  • Held every Wednesday from 1pm – 3pm at Watford Wellbeing Centre, Room 5, 501 St Albans Road,

 

Hertswise aims to ensure that people of all ages, living in Hertfordshire can access information and advice, activities and support.

Gardening Club at the Peace Garden

 

Gardening Club at the Peace Garden is hosted by Cassiobury Park; Friday 2nd August and Friday 9th August from 10.00am – 11.30am

Join them to help water, look after and harvest the plants in their community raised beds at the Peace Garden in the Park.

This event is for families.  Please meet outside the Hub (above the splash pools) on the patio at 10am and then follow staff to the Peace Garden.

Friday 2nd August Films:

Pete’s Dragon (PG) 12pm – 1.45pm

  • Pete, a boy, is found in a forest.  Apparently he’s been living there for six years after an accident took the lives of his parents.  A ranger named Grace decides to take him in and when she asks him how he survived all by himself, he says he had a friend, Elliot, with him.  He draws a picture of Elliot and it’s a picture of a dragon. Grace takes the picture to her father who claims that years ago, he encountered a dragon in the forest.  Grace takes Pete back to the forest and he shows them where he lives and Elliot.  A man sees Elliot and when he tells about his experience and is not believed, he sets out to prove it by capturing the dragon. Ralph Breaks the Internet (PG) 3.30pm – 5.30pm

  • Taking place six years after saving the arcade from Turbo’s vengeance, the Sugar Rush arcade cabinet has broken, forcing Ralph and Vanellope to travel to the Internet via the newly-installed Wi-Fi router in Litwak’s Arcade to retrieve the piece capable of saving the game. (1h 56m)

 

Bohemian Rhapsody (12A) 7.30pm – 9.45pm

  • Bohemian Rhapsody is a foot-stomping celebration of Queen, their music and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury.  Freddie defied stereotypes and shattered convention to become one of the most beloved entertainers on the planet.  The film traces the meteoric rise of the band through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound.  They reach unparalleled success, but in an unexpected turn Freddie, surrounded by darker influences, shuns Queen in pursuit of his solo career.   • A yeti named Migo is convinced that a human known only as “Small Foot” is real and has to prove to his tribe that it does exist with the help of Meechee and the S.E.S – Smallfoot Evidentiary Society. (1h 49m)

 

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (12A) 3.30pm – 5.45pm

  • Three years after the Jurassic World theme park was closed down, Owen and Claire return to Isla Nublar to save the dinosaurs when they learn that a once dormant volcano on the island is active and is threatening to extinguish all life there.  Along the way, Owen sets out to find Blue, his lead raptor, and discovers a conspiracy that could disrupt the natural order of the entire planet.  Life has found a way, again. Daddy’s Home (12) 7pm – 8.45pm

  • Stepfather Brad Whitaker is hoping for his stepchildren to love him and treat him like a dad.  All is going well until the biological father, Dusty Mayron, shows up, then everything takes a toll.  His stepchildren start putting him second and their father first, and now Dusty will have to learn that being a good dad is about pains and struggles.  Brad will also experience once again what it’s like to be a stepdad. Join Gambado Watford for their exclusive SEN & Autism friendly sessions.  Children with SEN (Special Educational Needs) or autism can play in their centre for free while they are closed to the general public.

Next event: Friday 9th August from 6.45pm – 8.15pm

They offer free entrance to a carer accompanying 1 child, if disability ID is shown. Sibling tickets can be purchased for an additional £5

You will be asked to show their Disability Living Allowance letter, bank statement showing Disability Living Allowance, PIP, EHCP or a letter from a medical professional body confirming the diagnosis.

  • Two years after Ethan Hunt had successfully captured Solomon Lane, the remnants of the Syndicate have reformed into another organization called the Apostles. Under the leadership of a mysterious fundamentalist known only as John Lark, the organization is planning on acquiring three plutonium cores. Ethan and his team are sent to Berlin to intercept them, but the mission fails when Ethan saves Luther and the Apostles escape with the plutonium. River Gade Adventure

 

Discover creatures that live in the River Gade at Cassiobury Park on Tuesday 6th August from 11am – 12pm.

Please bring your wellington boots and handle nets if you have them. A limited number of nets will be available during the session.
