Watford Community Housing; Heads of Services Q&A

Ahead of the WCH Annual General Meeting on 9th September, Watford Community Housing (WCH) are giving all residents the chance to speak to some of their senior members of staff responsible for key services on Monday 2nd September at their offices Gateway House from 6.30pm – 8pm.

At this Heads of Services Q&A meeting you can ask questions about pretty much anything, and you’ll receive informed answers from their staff experts who will be covering everything from repairs, to their improvement programme, their customer service, community events and beyond!

Watford Community Housing Annual General Meeting

Are you a Watford Community Housing member?  If so, then why not come along to the WCH Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Monday 9th September?

It is being held from 6pm – 8pm at their offices at Gateway House, 59 Clarendon Road.

Please find below the information pack that WCH have given for the meeting. Here you’ll find the agenda for the meeting – including proposed rule changes. For residents and tenants of WCH, please read through these as the changes may affect you.

The proposed changes are to the makeup of WCH’s board, including a proposed reduction in tenant representation, and the representation of a member from Watford Borough Council no-longer being obliged.

The link also gives reference to a form of proxy, where those who can’t attend will be able to vote on the motions given at the meeting. Only members of WCH can vote, which I believe are limited to tenants, leaseholders and shared owners, as listed here: https://www.wcht.org.uk/page/membership/

Please note that you can only apply for proxy voting until Saturday 7th September.

Finally a reminder that the Meriden Residents Association as an organisation are completely separate from Watford Community Housing. We’d recommend directing any questions to Watford Community Housing themselves. Gateway Voices is their group on Facebook where other people who live in their accommodation speak on many issues. https://www.facebook.com/groups/gatewayvoices/

You can create your design at home or in Elvira’s at the Hub, or you can come along to a drop-in ‘Design a logo morning on the Thursday 22nd August where materials will be provided.

Pop in between 10am and 12pm and give it a go. Make sure your design is returned to the Hub by the 30th August and it has your name, age and a contact number on the back.

There will be a small prize and the thrill of seeing your art all around the village next year. It will be used on everything relating to ALF2020, banners brochures, flyers, posters – everything.

They are looking for an image on A4 paper that represents the village festival, which is a series of events by groups, clubs, societies and individuals showing off their activities and skills.  Typical subjects might include, arts, crafts, performance, even the Village itself.

They look forward to seeing your pictures in lovely bold colours. Please include ALF2020 in your design.
