To celebrate the start of growing season and to thank residents for recycling their food and garden waste, Watford Borough Council and Veolia will be holding a compost giveaway on Saturday 11th May from 10am to 1pm (or while stocks last) at Wiggenhall Depot.
Ten tonnes of compost will be available to Watford residents who bring a proof of address (council tax or utility bill), and their own bags and shovels. Residents can help themselves to up to three bags of compost kindly donated by Agrivert – the facility where Watford’s food and garden waste is processed.
This is a self-service event and you will need to fill your own bags with compost and transport them to your car, so bring someone along with you to help if needed.
The entrance and the car park are expected to get very busy so please be prepared to wait and be considerate to other vehicles and pedestrians around you.
