Photographic Early Spring Nature Walk in Cassiobury Park

 

This Photographic Early Spring Nature Walk is a guided walk through Cassiobury Nature Reserve led by Andrew Lalchan (local photographer), on Wednesday 11th March from 11am – 1.30pm. You can explore spring in the woods & nature reserve.

This walk offers opportunities to take nature photos and Andrew will be on hand to provide advise. As it’s likely to be muddy in the park, strong footwear is needed.

They will meet at the Cassiobury Park Hub which is near the paddling pool.

Bumps and Babies

 

Bumps and babies is Hosted by NCT Watford. Come for a chat with other parents on Monday 9th March from 12.30pm – 2.30pm. There will be toys for the babies to play with plus hot drinks and cakes.  Your first drink is on them but there is also a selection of cakes available to buy.

This month they offer a pre-mothers Day pampering session from reflexologist Louise plus hopefully other therapies.
All welcome with bumps or babies up to 18 months – you don’t need to be an NCT member to attend.


Food Photography in Cassiobury Park Hub

 

Ever wanted to know how to shoot food photography like the pros. Come and join in at this workshop, where they will show you the best techniques on how to make food appealing when taking photos.

This workshop is taking place on Friday 6th March from 12 noon – 2pm in the Cassiobury Park Hub which is part of the paddling pool complex.

The first half an hour they will talk about the rules and show you examples. You will receive a guide sheet after which you will be shooting from a scene they have set up for you to practice.

You will then have an hour and a half to take photos of the scene and ask any photography / marketing related questions.

Food is an excellent subject for still life photography and you can achieve some beautiful artistic results.

Pensioners’ Forum

 

Watford Borough Council is working in partnership with Watford & Three Rivers Trust to invite Watford residents to the next Pensioners’ Forum on Tuesday 10th March from 2pm – 4pm at Watford Town Hall.

It is free to attend the Pensioners’ Forum and it is a great way for residents in Watford to meet new people and chat over tea and cake.

Under the Virtual Sea is at Abbots Langley Library Friday 21st February 2pm to 5pm.

Explore the sights & sounds of an underwater world.  Plus code with Cubetto the robot through an undersea adventure.

Teen Reading Group is held at North Watford Library Wednesday 19th February from 5pm – 6pm

If you enjoy a book and want to meet others that have the same passion for reading come along to this Teen Reading Group, suitable for ages 13-16 years.

This is a free walk-in session on the third Wednesday of the month between 5-6pm, where you can discuss with others, or simply just read.


 

LEGO Alive!

 

LEGO Alive! is at Bushey Library on Wednesday 19th February 2pm until 5pm.  Bring LEGO to life at the library with Code robotics with LEGO Boost and enter the world of virtual reality and augmented reality.

Storytime Adventure – Jack & the Beanstalk

 

Jack & the Beanstalk at Cassiobury Hub – Tuesday 18th February from 1.30pm – 2.30pm.  Come and listen to the story of Jack & the Beanstalk, plus game and planting a seed to take home.

Activities suitable for 2-5 years. Children must be accompanied by an adult.  Meet at the Hub’s education space at 1:30pm.

Watford TrackPlay

 

Trackplay is a fun and entertaining time for kids who love trains, on Sunday 16th February at Watford Leisure Centre – Central. With over 500 feet of Track and over 100 Thomas and his friends trains to choose from.  Kids will be raving about the experience for a long time.

Book a time slot to suit and then on the day sit back and enjoy a hot drink whilst the kids all have fun with trains.
